# Frequently asked questions

Short, direct answers about where Tetheract stands today.

> Status: simulation only. Tetheract does not control real hardware today and makes no safety, certification or compliance claims. A supervised test on a real motorized linear stage is planned only after a qualification checklist and an independent review, and no independent reviewer has been named yet.

## Does Tetheract control real machines today?

No. Tetheract is simulation only. It runs against simulated machines, and the real-hardware adapter exists only as an interface with actuation disabled.

## What machines is Tetheract aimed at first?

Lab automation. The first real test device is planned to be a motorized linear stage, operated under supervision, only after a qualification checklist and an independent review. Light industrial PLCs, desktop robot arms and gantries, and facility equipment are later classes that have not been started on hardware.

## Can the AI agent execute an action on its own?

No. The agent can only propose. Proposals are checked independently of the agent, and only commands that a human operator approves are executed. The operator can also edit, reject or take manual control.

## What happens when a proposal fails a check?

It is denied, and the operator sees a plain-language explanation of what failed and what to do next. The denial and its reason are recorded on the evidence timeline.

## How do operators sign in?

With passkeys only: a platform biometric such as a fingerprint or face unlock, or a hardware security key. There are no passwords or one-time codes. Each consequential action needs a fresh passkey check bound to that action, and recovery uses a second registered key rather than email or SMS.

## Does Tetheract have a safety rating or certification?

No. Tetheract makes no safety, certification or regulatory compliance claims, and it has not had an independent safety review.

## What has to happen before a real hardware test?

An independent reviewer must be named and the stage qualification checklist completed, followed by hardware-in-the-loop testing with actuation disabled and then supervised, low-energy bench validation of the linear stage. No independent reviewer has been named yet.

## Is Tetheract a hosted service?

No. It runs on your own computer, packaged as a locked-down local container, and listens only on the loopback address by default.

## Is pricing available?

No. No pricing has been published.

## Is the source code public?

No. The source code is private.
